Investors demonstrate corporate responsibility of money power
Ilmarinen, the Swedish Folksam and the Norwegian KLP’s joint Nordic Engagement Cooperation (NEC) publishes in its annual report both the list of companies targeted by joint engagement and the impacts of the engagement. The investors collectively represent 144 billion of investments. For Ilmarinen, however, this is only part of its direct influencing efforts. NEC’s activities are coordinated by the Swedish investment services firm GES.
According to Mika Leskinen [OP Asset Management, SRI Director], discussions with companies are more productive when their names are not be disclosed. This year, OP has launched a joint engagement focusing on water risks with four other European investors. GES is behind this engagement, too. Similar projects are also in the planning on a few other themes.
