Professional engagement company represents investors, not activists

Responsible investment requires extensive data collection and analysis. For this reason, the importance of specialised research organisations and service providers is growing rapidly in the investment market.

Investors and organisations put pressure on companies to increase their responsibility reporting and research institutions complement this information with their analysis.

 One of the important partners for large Finnish investors is the Swedish investment services firm GES. GES produces research on investment companies and co-ordinates engagement relating to active ownership.

GES’ engagement principles include working in cooperation with investment companies. Its principles emphasise that in these contexts GES works as an investor representative and not as an activist. Its criteria are based on international norms.
