On February 1, FNG CH, the Swiss subsidiary of the German-speaking Sustainable Investment Forum, holds a session in Zurich on “New impulses for active shareholders – proxy voting & engagement”. Key insights will be presented by international and Swiss experts from GES Investment Services, Hermes Eos, Ethos and NEST.

“This seminar is the second in a series in order to bring the idea of sustainable finance into the traditional Swiss financial market”, says Patrick Wirth, Managing Director of GES Investment Services Switzerland, who has taken on an active role in the FNG CH working group planning the events.

The seminar will be moderated by Ivo Knoepfel, Managing Director of onValues, while four market players will present various sub-subjects:

  • Hanna Roberts, Engagement Director at GES Investment Services, will introduce engagement and give a briefing on current status, regional differences and new trends;
  • Hans-Christoph Hirt, Global Head of Corporate Governance and Engagement at Hermes, will speak on the concept and significance of the UN PRI Clearinghouse;
  • Dominique Biedermann, Director of Ethos, will describe the added value for asset owners when becoming member of a pooled voting service;
  • Peter Signer, Pension Fund Manager at Nest Sammelstiftung, will talk about the challenges of being an active owner.

Forum Nachhaltige Geldanlagen (FNG) is the regional Sustainable Investment Forum for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
