Today NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. and GES Investment Services present their new Finnish sustainability index at the Helsinki Stock Exchange together with asset manager Seligson & Co who consider it “a good index from investor’s point of view”.

The latest addition to the OMX GES Sustainability Index Series has been created upon direct client demand. One of the clients is Finnish asset manager Seligson & Co which already provides a number of international sustainability index funds. They will apply the OMX GES Sustainability Finland Index to their existing Finland Index Fund.

Ari Kaaro, Managing Director of Seligson & Co, will elaborate further on their engagement in this under the headline “A good index from investor’s point of view” at a lunch seminar today at the Helsinki Stock Exchange. The other speakers are: Lauri Rosendahl, President of NASDAQ OMX Helsinki, Fredric Nyström, Key Account Manager, GES Investment Services, and Lukas Wäsström, Index Analyst, NASDAQ OMX.

OMX GES Sustainability Finland Index is a benchmark index, which comprises the 40 leading Finnish listed companies in terms of sustainability. The index criteria are based upon international guidelines for environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues and support investor considerations to the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). The assessment is conducted by GES Investment Services, which rates the most traded companies on the NASDAQ OMX Helsinki exchange on their preparedness on ESG issues.

NASDAQ OMX and GES provide three sustainability indexes based on the Nordic, Swedish and Finnish markets, respectively, as well as six ethical indexes.
