GES Investment Services is one of six nominees for the Nordic Council Nature and Environment Prize 2010. The theme for this year is green capital management.
The DKK 350,000 prize is being awarded for the sixteenth time this year. The theme for 2010 is green capital management. The prize will be awarded to “a Nordic individual, company, organisation or medium, which has in an exemplary manner, directly or indirectly, made an impact on the financial markets, the asset management industry, banks or consultants, and encouraged them to adopt a long-term perspective and integrate sustainability into their asset management”.
According to a press release from the Nordic Council on April 23, the original 15 nominations have been whittled down to six, most of them financial institutions, for the final round. Three of the finalists are from Norway (Storebrand, KLP and Cultura Sparbank), two from Sweden (Ekobanken, GES Investment Services) and one from Denmark (Merkur Andelskasse).
The Adjudication Committee will make its decision and announce the winner at a meeting in Copenhagen, 25-26 May. The actual award ceremony will be held during the annual Session of the Nordic Council in Reykjavik in the autumn.
