GES Investment Services Switzerland has become a member of Forum Nachhaltige Geldanlagen (FNG), which is the regional Sustainable Investment Forum for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
FNG started in 2001 and was one of the founders of Eurosif, where GES already is a member as well as of Danish Dansif. Today, FNG has nearly 100 members out of which 22 are also part of its Swiss section, among them GES.
Patrick Wirth, Managing Director of GES Investment Services Switzerland, has taken on an active role in a Swiss working group planning a series of lunch seminars in order to bring the idea of sustainable finance into the traditional financial market.
“It is important for GES to participate in FNG not only to be one of the stakeholders shaping the agenda of key ESG issues but also to join the dialogue with asset owners, academic institutions and other research providers in this fast growing market,” says Patrick Wirth.
According to the latest numbers by the Swiss consulting firm onValues the sustainable investment market in Switzerland per end of 2009 was 23.0 bn Euros, which corresponds to an increase of 63.4 percent compared to the same value per end of 2008.
